Blog: High Scores

You guys are insane!

First off, whoever KMC is on the Blue Defense leader boards, you're the only person I've ever seen who got over level 200 in the game - and now that there are online high scores to prove it, you've blown me away completely!

Also, I'm glad you didn't get enough points to mess up my UI - I left plenty of room in there, but you never know... someone might get a few trillion points! :)

So for now, all you Blue Defense players out there, the bar has been set - at 125.6 billion points. Keep practicing!

As for Blue Attack, you guys on infinite are truly inspiring... during development, in infinite mode, I was only able to get about 1.3 million points. Now, Toshi@JP has been able to get 5.9 million, which I'm pretty sure is brushing up against the upgrade cap! I don't think he had much choice after that than to stock up on lives and bombs. I guess I should add some extra upgrades so that people can continue to play Infinite mode well into the 10s of millions...

(2009) [David P] I ran out of weapon upgrades a few levels before hitting 4.7mil - after that I just couldn't down the red swarm fast enough even when spamming full strength bombs. I have no idea how Toshi got to 5.9 mil - that's amazing.
(2009) [Toshi@JP] Hello. Thank you for making the great application. Perhaps, the difference with other players is the score efficiency. The core is knocked down as soon as possible in all stages, and ten times score are obtained. Because the power-up can be done early if it does so, it easily advances it. My hoping in the upcoming version hopes it comes to be able not to play long, and the number of new enemies increases. Hereafter, it looks forward. (Do you understand because the machine translation?)
(2009) [Toshi@JP] >that I just couldn't down the red swarm fast enough even when spamming full strength bombs. me too!!
(2009) [David P] Hi Toshi! I understand the translation fairly well. I'm also aiming for the 10x bonus but find that impossible to keep up on later stages. Luck plays a part as one wave formation type is simply not able to be beaten later in the game even with full upgrades - if you get a lucky run then you can clear more waves before it becomes unbeatable. I worried that using bombs might lower your score by eating up total resources but hearing that you spam them too suggests that's not the case. Think i'll need to experiment with more speed boosts to try and catch up. Thanks for the info!
(2009) [Toshi@JP] Everyone's number of core shooting down of ranking boards is roughly the same. I don't use the bomb at all stages, and it doesn't stock it to eight or more. Because 5000&15000 points are so large. I will hold out my high score update by using the speedboosts!
